Mr. Sajeeb Wazed advises the Honorable Prime Minister of Bangladesh on policy and strategic issues related to Information and Communication Technology as the Honorable Prime Minister’s ICT Advisor. He is the architect of Digital Bangladesh. The policies taken by him as the Prime Minister’s ICT Advisor opened a new horizon of ICT usage in Bangladesh as the country continues to improve rapidly in all indicators of technological advancement including mobile phone users, internet users, accessing public services digitally, mobile banking, and earnings from ICT exports. His policies has already contributed to Bangladesh receiving investment from Silicon Valley. It is a paradigm shift for Bangladesh to reach such a height in ICT from what it had been even less than a decade ago. Mr. Sajeeb Wazed is a successful IT entrepreneur and policy expert based in Washington, DC. He has worked in the industry for almost two decades. This includes several technology startups in the Silicon Valley. He has his own consulting practice in the Washington area with clients including global multinational companies. Mr. Sajeeb Wazed has a Bachelor’s degree with a triple major in Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science from Bangalore University, another Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Texas and a Master of Public Administration degree from the Harvard Kennedy School. In 2007, Mr. Wazed was elected ‘Young Global Leader’ by the World Economic Forum. Besides, he was given the ICT for Development Award by four renowned international organizations during the UN General Assembly 2016.

Getting his higher education (Graduation and Masters) in Bangla Language & Literature from the University of Dhaka. He started his career as a journalist on 16 January 1972. He was a member of Mujib Bahini (Bangladesh Liberation Force) in 1971 and participated in the War of Liberation of Bangladesh. He was involved in the movement of freedom of press and was actively associated with the Dhaka Union of Journalists. He was elected as the Organizing Secretary of DUJ. Doing some businesses in Media, Travel & Tour Operation, Printing, Publishing and Computer Reselling, he is now engaged in Software Development, Providing IT Education, Developing IT Enabled Educational Curriculum, Developing Course Materials for ICT Education, Creating Software and providing ICT Services, Doing Researches on ICT, ICT Journalism and writing Books on ICT and other subjects. His first novel named Nokshotrer Onger was published in a book form in 2005. His second novel named Suborne Shekorh was published in the Fortnightly Tarokalok's Eid issue of 2006. Its book edition is under process of printing. Mustafa Jabbar is the technology leader and promoter of ICT in Bangladesh. He is the founder member of Bangladesh Computer Samity, Bangladesh Association of Software and Services and E Commerce Association of Bangladesh. He has been elected President of Bangladesh Computer Samity for the fourth term and retired from his office on 01 April 2014 due to regulatory bindings. He was also the founder Vice President of BASIS. He was President of BASIS from 16 July 2016 to 08 January 2018. He is more recognized as the local language solution provider in Bangla, Chakma, Asamese, Hindi & developer of Bijoy Bangla Keyboard & Software and expert in Graphics-Multimedia. He has developed Bangla Braille publishing system which enables blind people to use Bangla Braille in computer. He is also regarded as the Master of Digital Bangla Font designing. He has developed Bijoy Library, a library management Software which is being used by famous libraries of Bangladesh including British Council. He has developed 4 softwares named Bijoy Shishu Shiksha for preschool kids. He has also developed Bijoy Prathomik Shiksha 1,2,3, based on Text Books published by NCTB for grade 1, 2 and 3. He has established a large number of Schools in Bangladesh including Computer based Ananda Multimedia School and Bijoy Digital School.

Dr. Dipu Moni(born 8 December 1965) is a Bangladeshi politician who is serving Bangladesh Government as the Minister of Education of Bangladesh since January 2019. She served Bangladesh as Foreign Minister of Bangladesh from 2009 to 2013. She was appointed the first female Foreign Minister on 6 January 2009 after a landslide victory for the Awami League-led Grand Alliance on 29 December 2008. She is the Chairperson of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Bangladesh National Parliament and the former Foreign Minister of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. Dr. Dipu Monire-slected again Joint Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League 20th council. She represents Chandpur-6(Chandpur-haimchor) as a Member of the 10th National Parliament of Bangladesh. Mrs. Moni is a daughter of Jointi Lal who was a founding member of the Bangladesh Awami League and known especially for his role in the Language Movement and as the first Council-elected General Secretary of the East Pakistan Chhatra League. Dr. Dipu Monipassed HSC from Holy Cross College, Dhaka. She studied MBBS at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital and LLB at Bangladesh National University. She later earned Master of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health and earned Master of Laws at the University of London as an external student. She had completed a course on Negotiations and Conflict Resolutions from Harvard University. She is a lawyer of Bangladesh Supreme Court. Dr. Dipu Moniis married to Tawfique Nawaz, an Oxbridge educated Senior Advocate of the Bangladesh Supreme Court.They have one son, Tawquir Rashaad Nawaz and a daughter, Tani Deepavali Nawaz.

Mr. Zahid Maleque, MP, Honorable Minister, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare was born on 11th April, 1959 in an esteemed family in Manikgonj district. His father, late Col. A Maleque (Rtd.) was an acclaimed politician & social worker and was Mayor of Dhaka City Corporation and Minister, Ministry of Textile & Jute and was the member of Advisory Committee of Bangladesh Awami League. His mother’s name is Mrs. Fouzia Maleque. As a candidate of Bangladesh Awami League Mr. Zahid Maleque was elected as a member in the National Parliament election in 2008 from the constituency Makikgonj-3. During that period, he played vital role as a member of parliamentary standing committee for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Industry. In 2014 Mr. Zahid Maleque was again elected MP in the 10th National Parliament Election from thesame constituency. On January 12, 2014 he was appointed as the State Minister, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. In the last election of 11th National Parliament, held on December 30, 2018 he has been reelected as member of parliament for consecutive third time from the same constituency. On January 7, 2019 Mr. Zahid Maleque took oath as a Minister for Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Mr. Zahid Maleque obtained Masters Degree with Honor’s in English Literature and Language from University of Dhaka. Besides politics, he is actively involved in various social welfare services. He played a pioneer role in establishing different educational, religious and social development institutions. in Dhaka and Manikgonj. He is an eminent entrepreneur. He served successfully as the chairman of Bangladesh Thai Aluminum Ltd., Sunlife Insurance Co. Ltd., BD Thai Food and Beverage Ltd., Rahat Real Estate and Construction Ltd., BD Sunlife Securities Ltd. from 1984 to 2014. He has initiated ‘Colonel Maleque Medical College Hospital in Manikgonj, Mr. Zahid Maleque has lead the development work in Manikgonj. Some of the mentionable projects are: 1) 250 Beded District Hospital, 2) Medical Assistant Training School (MATS), 3) Institute of Health Technology, 4) Manikgonj Diabetic Hospital, 5) Agriculture Training Institute, 6) Bridges, Roads and Rural Electrification. At present he is working relentlessly to establish a service-oriented dynamic health sector. He has contributed significantly in ensuring good governance, Transparency and introducing efficiency in health services management. He is proud father of three children.
Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak held a number of important positions in the past which ensures him a great amount of experience. He was the Member of Parliamentary Standing Committee on ICT Ministry and Private Member’s Bill from 2009 to 2013, and was also the Member of Parliament in National Assembly of Bangladesh since 2009. From 2009, he held the position of Co-Chair of Parliamentary Committee on Climate Change till 2013. He was also the President of Bangladesh Carom Federation since 2009, and Vice-President of International Carom Federation since 2011. He holds the position of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh since January 2014. Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak accomplished a number of achievements in his line of work. He had secured the National Award on Environment in 2010 in recognition to his role in the large scale tree plantation movement. He was elected Member of Parliament at the age of 28, and is considered the youngest MP in the 9th Parliament, and was re-elected in 2014. At the age of 33, he became the Minister of State making him the youngest minister in the history of Bangladesh. During his tenure, more than 18,000 government offices across the country were brought under a dedicated high speed intranet, one of the world’s largest web portal consisting of 25,000 government websites established, Bangladesh won ICT’s Sustainable Development Award and WSIS plus 10 Award from ITU and Public Service Excellence Award from WITSA. In 2016, he was nominated for Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum. Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak is a lawyer by profession and enrolled as an Advocate in the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He had obtained his Masters of Science in Political Science and LLB (Bachelor of Law) from National University of Bangladesh. In addition, he had completed a Capstone Course from National Defence College, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Mr. Md. Shahriar Alam, M.P., Hon’ble state Minister for Foreign Affairs, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh born in 1970 in Chittagong and spent his early life in Lalmonirhat and Rajshahi. He received his Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Dhaka City College and obtained an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from the Institute of Business Administration (IBA), University of Dhaka. Mr. Alam completed CAPSTONE course in the 1st batch at NDC, Mirpur Cantonment, Dhaka. Mr. Alam is deeply involved in politics and has been working as an active member of the Bangladesh Awami League since 1997. He has been enthusiastic to ensure effective representation of the new generation in politics and in the Parliament. He was elected as a member of the National Parliament for the first time in 2008 with the highest margin of votes among the 6 constituencies of the Rajshahi Division of the country. He was elected a member of the National Parliament election in 2014 and 2018 consecutively. He was also the state minister for Foreign Affairs during the last tenure of Awami League Government. During the first tenure of Md. Shahriar Alam as State Minister for Foreign Affairs, the ‘Envoy’s Conference’ was held successfully under his guidance. He stood by the family members of the deceased people in the terrorist attack of Holey Artisan and was highly praised. Besides leading the main activities of Foreign Affairs, Mr Shahriar played an important role in solving the problems of Expatriate Bangladeshi Nationals. He tried to expand new horizon of mutual cooperation among different countries. Under the leadership of State Minister Md. Shahriar Alam, Bangladesh participated in International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR) meeting under Human Rights Commission of UN and also joined the 3rd Universal Periodic Review (UPR) which contributed to develop the Human Rights condition in Bangladesh. As a Member of Parliament, Mr. Alam has made enormous contributions in various capacities. While acting as the Member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Information, he played a key role in finalizing the draft of the Right to Information (RTI) Act and presented the RTI during various orientation programmes before the newly elected Members of the Parliament. Mr. Alam also served as a Member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Science & Technology and placed a motion in the Parliament with detailed explanation under the Rule 142 that paved the way to set up the first ever nuclear power plant. He acted as the Vice Chairman of All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Climate Change, Education and Poverty Reduction; and Vice Chairman of All party Parliamentary Group on MDGs, PRSP, WTO and Bangladesh Development Forum. Mr. Alam also played a vital role as a member of the Preview Committee on Sangsad Bangladesh TV. He was a regular and active member of the discussion panel in the parliament session on budget and poverty reduction plan. An avid promoter of education, he spent all of his remuneration received as the Member of Parliament to run monthly scholarship programmes for secondary school students of his constituency. Mr. Alam also served earlier as a member of the Awami League Sub-Committee on Information, Research & Publicity and Publications and played a key role in organizing various orientation programmes all over the country. Mr. Alam is equally successful as an entrepreneur and started his career in Ready Made Garments Industry in 1995. A prominent entrepreneur having interest in different fields, his main focus is on textile business that employs 25 thousand workers. As a leading exporter, his company has been exporting to major destinations which include, among others, EU countries, the USA, Japan, Australia and Russia. Mr. Alam’s outstanding entrepreneurial success has helped him winning the National Export Trophy in Knitwear Category for 2007-2008. His business houses trains disables with the assistance from CRP and employs the highest number of physically challenged individuals. This led to the conferment of CSR Award from Global buyers on him. According to the advice of Mr Shahriar Alam who is renowned for his exceptional initiatives, the first Television channel in Bangla for children named Duronto TV is established which is the most popular Television channel in our country. This exceptional initiative is praised from all walks of people. As a social worker, Mr. Alam established the first ever Cricket School in Rajshahi and some of the cricketers of this school have proved themselves to be accommodated in the national cricket team. He is chief patronizer of Franchise Cricket Rajshahi Kings. His initiatives helped create fresh jobs for a few thousand youth. He had also contributed in successfully running training programmes in the RMG sector. He served as the Vice President of Bangladesh Hockey Federation. Currently Mr. Shahriar Alam is the President of Bangladesh Tennis Federation and one of the Directors of the Abahani Limited, the biggest sports organisation of the country. He has been deeply involved in sensitizing people about creating an ethics-based work environment where everyone is held accountable. Mr. Alam has a personal dream to see a poverty-free Bangladesh. Having spent so many years in north Bengal, he established the North Bengal Development Forum to pursue different development agenda of the region. A widely-travelled person, Mr. Alam visited all parts of the world even before joining as the State Minister for Foreign Affairs. The countries that he visited are among others, the UK, Canada, Russia, India, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, China, Kenya, the UAE, the USA, France, Japan, Maldives, Italy, Switzerland, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, South Korea, South Africa, Ethiopia, Benin, Mexico, Samoa, Oman, Venezuela, Nepal, Belarus, Poland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Slovenia, Rwanda, Tajikistan, Myanmar, Guinea, Vietnam, Croatia, Jordan Denmark and Kosovo. Mr. Alam is an excellent orator and a much familiar face in mass media and social media. He is quite passionate about reading, music and sports, especially cricket, football, hockey, golf and lawn tennis. Mr. Alam is married and blessed with two sons and one daughter.

Mr. N M Zeaul Alam, at present, the Secretary of Information & Communication Technology Division. He is the immediate past the Secretary, Coordination & Reforms of the Cabinet Division (From December 2015 to January 2019). Prior to that he was Director General of the Department of Immigration and Passport. He belongs to Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS Administration) 84 batch. He obtained M.Sc. in Botany from the University of Chittagong after that he had got another Masters from the University of BRAC on Governance and Development. He served in all the core position in the field administration including Deputy Commissioner (Khulna) and Divisional Commissioner (Sylhet). He also served at Secretariat in different Ministries/Divisions at different position. In his long career, Mr. Alam actively participated in different meetings; workshops; seminars; regional, bi-lateral and multilateral meetings on trade negotiations in the country and abroad. He led Bangladesh delegation to SAFTA, BIMSTEC and APTA negotiation meeting and joined ministerial meetings of those regional trade agreements. He also joined international conference on G2P, Open Government Data (OGD), Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) and Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) abroad. He actively worked on the signing of trade agreement between Bangladesh and India on the export of apparel from Bangladesh in 2007. At the national level he is the Co-chair of GoB-DP LCG from the Cabinet Division. He participated a course on ‘Creating Collaborative Solution: Innovation in Governance’ in Harvard University of USA. He had also undergone a number of professional training at home and abroad. He visited several countries including Thailand, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, the UK, Sweden, Finland, Nepal, India, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia, Spain, Turkey, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the USA, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Japan, New Zealand and Australia. He has been rewarded with National Award named ‘Innovation Award’ for outstanding contribution in digitization activities of Sylhet Division in 2012 as Divisional Commissioner of Sylhet. Mr. Alam is married and blessed with three daughters. His vision is to serve the people.
